The Year of Saint Paul

 

Pope Benedict XVI has announced a special jubilee dedicated to St. Paul the Apostle. The Pauline Year, which runs from June 29, 2008, to June 29, 2009, will be celebrated with liturgies, symposiums, and special publications devoted to the life and writings of Paul.

Throughout this special jubilee year, Loyola Press will post resources and articles to help readers appreciate the life and work of this great apostle.

Here are some ideas to get you started:

  • Bring St. Paul to life by performing a short play about the apostle.
  • Keep St. Paul front and center throughout the Pauline Year with this St. Paul craft.
  • Start/participate in a Bible study that focuses on Paul’s writings.
  • Take a closer look at the life of St. Paul through books and articles to gain a greater understanding of the apostle’s life and the impact of his service to the Church.
  • Review a map of Paul’s travels to more fully appreciate the extent of Paul’s evangelization efforts.
  • Invite Joe Durepos, author of A Still More Excellent Way: How Saint Paul Points us to Jesus, to speak at your parish.
